FEBRUARY 2024
Early Days
I purchased the plans from Fyne Boats in the UK (CLC agent) in 2022 but didn't start building until 2024. I live part time on an Aegean Island and finding and collecting the right materials can be difficult and expensive. I finally located some marine plywood that was made in Greece and found the one shop on the island with a limited selection of West System epoxy and filler. (Building the whole boat with 105 resin, 206 hardner, and 407 filler because that's what they have.) I had to buy the fiberglass in the States to get the 6oz woven. Anyway, some images building a work table, perusing the plans, and inspecting our plywood.

AUGUST 2026
Completed fillets on hull exterior
All wires have long been removed after the hull was tacked together with epoxy dabs between wire locations. The boat had been stored for the winter in an old garage, while I returned to the US for a few months. Even though I had covered her with waterproof tarps some water had infiltrated. I was worried about damage to the marine plywood but everything seemed ok other than some discoloration due to water and some surface mold. Going for a painted workboat finish anyway so I give the hull a sanding and faired out the plank joints taking care to rough up the old epoxy "stiches". After a few hours prep, I laid in the thickened epoxy to fill the length of each lap joint. Took a couple of mornings to get that done in anticipation of glassing the bottom panel.

AUGUST 2026
Daggerboard trunk and seats
Turned the boat over. Built, fiberglassed, and epoxied the daggerboard trunk pieces. Test fitting the trunk and seats getting ready to coat all enclosed areas with epoxy prior to install. Epoxied the skeg pieces together to get ready for installation once I turn the boat back over. Nice thing about this build is how easy it is to turn the boat as it is quite light. It has been warm, 32 to 36c so working slowly but enjoying the process.
